Each centre must comply with its permit requirements for keeping or using radioactive substances or storing or disposing of radioactive waste.

IsoStock aids hospitals in complying with regulatory requirements within the UK, including the Environment Agency (EA), Natural Resources Wales (NRW), the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA).

Open – allows record keeping for all stages of ordering, planning, dispensing, dosing, and waste management and disposal.

Sealed – allows record keeping for standalone sources and those housed with equipment. It will track all movements and leak tests with the option to add photos.

The software is configured to meet each department’s needs to improve ease of adoption and day-to-day use. Centres can opt to deploy to a single Nuclear Medicine Department or utilise all the features, including radiopharmacy components and recording generators and elutions.

IsoStock will manage the process from planning to dispensing. Report options include mandatory reports such as Release Inventory but can also report on specific functions like ARSAC

We have been using Isostock for over 2 years, to manage our radioactive materials (sealed and unsealed sources) in a busy District General Hospital Nuclear Medicine department. Isostock is well liked by EA inspectors, and, more importantly by our operators, who quickly adapted to using it for every day NM tasks. It manages location and activity of sources (against our EA Permit), volume to dispense for injections, administration record (against ARSAC DRLs), including part of each injection to aqueous waste (using published excretion factors) and part to solid waste (sharps). Since May 2019, I have been undertaking EPR 2016(2018) compliance audits. Prior to IsoStock, several in-house systems were used to track and manage our radioactive substances.
